Could I please get some feedback on these videos?
We bought this horse over 2 years ago for my husband, but playdays aren’t his thing and right now that's all that I do.
I really haven't ridden this mare very much at all, maybe a handful of times before this playday. She is also out of shape because he hasn't been riding her either. I think she still has a lot to give as in speed. I wasn’t really pushing her due to her being out of shape.
Here are a couple of videos, one is barrels, the other is poles.

Here is the link to her pedigree also.

Thanks!!
Edited! Hopefully it's right this time...

| I feel like she's trying to shoulder her left turns.. but other than that she seems to be coming along nicely! More work and more runs and she will get it down (: But yeah I would definitely work on her not shouldering the 2nd and 3rd barrel at home, ask her to pick up that shoulder with your inside rein, don't ask to move it away with the outside rein |

I'm not even sure she should be going to the right barrel first. This was the first time we have ever ran barrels on her since we have had her. I wasn't able to get with the lady that we bought her from to find out which way she goes.
I will work on the inside rein instead of the outside. I do the same thing on my other horse too.

| I think the horse is very nice for a playday horse. I don't think the horse has enough gas for 4D horse. |

| I think she has plenty of gas for 4d's. Do you ride her with spurs? I would take them off if I were you, she doesn't look to happy every time you kick her and I think if she wasn't focused on that she would give a little more run to you. The more in shape she gets and the more she runs them the faster and cleaner she'll get. Definitely agree with another poster about making sure she doesn't start shouldering them. The faster she starts going the more she'll want to if not corrected early. Good Luck! |

About the not enough gas. This mare has been off of all events for over 2 yrs now. She isn't in shape and I really wasn't pushing her as much as I could have. This was the first barrel run I have ever ran her on. I was taking it easy because I do not know her at all. Like I said in my first post, I have only been on this mare maybe a handfull of times, but rode her here because I put on sister on my horse due to hers being hurt.
Spurs? Nope, wasn't wearing any, but I did smack her on the neck a couple of times on the way home.... I did see what you are talking about though. |
