| You know I only tell you guys the good stuff; Last night my daughter steps outside on the patio to join the rest of us. Immediately she steps on a Colorado River Toad. A good sized one too. She FLIPS out. I mean she is in full nuculear melt down. As I try not to cry in her face because I'm the worst mom in the world for thinking this is funny stuff, I convince her after about twenty minutes to come back out and be with us. She sits down and one of those GIANT black beetles that have a wing span of a Stealth bomber fly right into her face. I'm not laughing anymore because now she is crying her heart out and runs back into the house. So I sit with her and we share an otter pop and everything is fine. Today she went outside and got bit by a carpenter ant. Apparently she is allergic or something because the welt is as big as my hand.
She is now on my lap. I hope I don't spill my drink on her or something. Geee |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Oh poor girl! I love toads, just not under foot. I stepped on one the other day too. Heard a pop, but he looked ok so I stuck it in my flower garden. I hope it was ok. Big flying bugs are a no go. Kids going to want to move north where they bugs are smaller and slower (too dang cold for em). |

| Usually we don't even see toads until the monsoons and so far we haven't had a drop of moisture. We really need the rain in S. Arizona. |

The other day Amber, my 5 year old, was running around the house trying to catch up with me. I turn around just in time to see her trip over a dead rabbit one of the dogs must have brought up. She landed next to it and started bawling because of the "poor, creepy bunny". I couldn't contain my laughter. I had to give him a proper buriel to stop the waterworks. |

| I can sympathize - I had a huge toad jump on my bare foot yesterday and I screamed! My poor heeler came running to "rescue" me from whatever it was that "got momma!" |
