Location: Wyoming | How many of you suspect your horses have ulcers and just give them a supplement to keep it under control? Rather than giving them omeprazole to treat it? |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I do. I have never had big ulcer issues considering how many horses I have. A yearling that has been injured for one ignorant reason or another and 2 I sent off to be started. The one came back injured, cut foot and the sorrel is just more watchy and I think he stresses himself out. Treated all with GastroPLUS. All overcame their symptoms and were back to normal. I don't keep them on it all the time, but if I see someone that is showing some symptoms I usually do a months round. It's a great preventative if you have a horse that is prone to them, the daily cost is cheaper the bigger container you get. Some feed it everyday during their competition season. |

| My gelding is being treated now for ulcers. He is on Gastro gaurd. Im seeing some difference in him. The past few days hes not been cinchy and hes willingly walking in the barn. As these were some of the issues I've been dealing with. He had given me serious alley issues too but not been any place yet to see how he is. Im now needing to find a good, affordable maintenance suppliment. Open to suggesions. :) |

Same here and THE GastroPlus has never let my horse's down.
Once the ulcers were healed I give GastroPlus before I haul, everyday when away from home, bad weather and I haven't had any problems since doing this. I added FORCO to keep the gut healthy and balanced and use it daily. |

Location: Georgia | I would suggest treating it to see if you see a difference. Ulser shield is cheap and effective. I keep all my horses on it as a preventative. It mixes well with feed or you can paste it to the horse that goes off feed. If you want to give it a try go to www.choiceofchamps.com or call and use coupon code *cockk* in promo section at check out for %10 off and FREE SHIPPING!! Great stuff!! and its cheap!
Ulser Shield
Ulser Shield begins to neutralize acid on contact. A mucosal protector, Magnesium and Calcium form a barrier over the mucosal lining. Calcium Carbonate reduces the acidity of the stomach and helps promote proper digestion and nutrient absorption. Polydimenthylsiloxane, an anti-gas, helps reduce trapped air in mucous, which may be associated with equine ulsers. If your horse displays poor appetite, mild to severe colic, poor condition, attitude changes and poor training performance, you may be seeing the early signs of an ulcer. Add Ulser Shield to your horses daily diet and early treatment may prevent the use of Gastro Guard. Ulser Shield is a marvelous maintenance for horses following a course of Gastro Guard.
INGREDIENTS: Preservatives Magnesium Oxide Calcium Carbonate Polydimethylsiloxane New Size! Available by the quart ($20.00), half gallon ($35.00) or gallon $60.00 |

| I treat with omeprazole
Then I modify the diet reduce NSC, increase fat, when hauling make sure they have hay in front 24/7.
When hauling I give omeprazole day of and day after on overnight events.
I also give papaya puréed with their feed as my vet showed me scholarly research studies that proved papaya will eliminate ulcers with no long term side effects. |
