| I have a personal confession. I don't like appearing weak. I don't like how it makes me feel. More importantly, I imagine that people will think less of me if they think I am weak. So I pretend. I act and talk stronger than I really am. I live by the motto " Never let them see you sweat".
David had not taste for such self aggrandizement. He was weak and poor and he knew it. He said it outright. No illusions of grandeur. No pretending. No hiding. Just gut level honesty. He even suggested that his attempts to follow God hand made him so; "My knees are weak through fasting."
After his authentic personal proclamation of weakness , David cried out to God for help, and his closing refrain of praise suggests an expectant positive response from God.
Is it possible that your willingness to confess your own weakness is the key to experiencing God's redemptive provision?
Are there places where you are pretending to be stronger than you really are, posture that creates a barrier to God's deliverance?
Could you give yourself permission to name your weakness in God's presence and see if that opens the door to what you most need from Him?
When we are weak, then we are strong.
Psalm 109:21 26 Help me O, Lord, My God! Oh save me according to Your mercy, that they may know that this is Your hand, That You, Lord, have done it!

Location: Central Texas | I'm a pro at that! Then when I do weaken occassionally, those that know me get kinda weird. I think it makes them feel awkward and startled. Sometimes when I feel like I'm at the end of my rope and the knot I tied in it is coming undone, all that is left is to cry out to God and admit all my weaknesses and ask for major help. It works and reminds me that it really is ok to not always be so "tough". |

| Thanks for a great message. What this message speaks to me about is humility...humility is a good thing for us, we are told this in the scriptures on more than one occasion. There's a time to call on Him for the strength that we need in a situation but there are times to be meek and humble...even in asking for strength from Him, we are humbled in knowing that we NEED Him and that He is our source of strength.
As the Word tells us...."the meek shall inherit the earth."
