Was thinking of switching over to Nutrena safechoice perform pellet and was wondering if any one has any experience or feedback. It looks like a good feed and feel my horse can benefit from the higher fat content. Horse looks good but he can look better. I like that it has the pre and probiotics in feed also.

I tried it, was using Compete, what the Perform I was supposed to replace.  I was not happy with it at all.  I spoke with a nutrena rep who said it was basically the same feed, but my horses did not look good on it after trying it.  JMHO

I haven't had any luck with Strategy. Actually the horses I put on it looked worse after 3 months than they did when I fed no grain at all and they got hot and nervous and I was paying $18 per bag for it, ugh!! I have been feeding Safechoice for about 3 months now and my horses are doing very well on it. The biggest difference I have noticed so far has been that their topline has improved(slightly) and their hoof quality has improved greatly. I'm going to stick with Safechoice for a while!!

I love this feed. Granted, we are feeding it to my Hubby's gelding who is a hard keeper and lacks energy. Since starting the feed, he has put on a good amount of weight, shined up like a copper penny, and feels wonderful. It gives him the spark that he needed. In saying that, I can not give it to my mare. It makes her hot and nervous. I have nothing but good to say about safechoice feeds. Nutrena perform is at the top of my list.

I use Safechoice SR and will probably switch my young mare to either the Perform or regular SC in the near future.  If you go to Nutrena website you can sign up for updates and they email you $2 off coupons that you can print as many as you want.  Very cost effective for the consumer!

I was feeding pur horses Safechoice (original) when our daughter moved back home with her three that were being fed Strategy. Ours looked better and I talked to her about putting hers on it. She was die hard Strategy. After a few winter months she decided on her own to switch to Safechoice.  When our feed store started carrying the Nutrena perform she switched to that. Her horses look great and she is now sold on Nutrena.

I fed Nutrena Perform and really liked it. I recently switched to ADM PrimeGLO and love it. If it became unavailable, I would go back to the Nutrena over Purina feeds.

I have fed Perform to my mare and Senior to my old gelding for years. I love the Nutrena products! The people are Nutrena are always nice and helpful. If you have an Atwoods or Tractor Supply nearby they should either have it or should be able to get it for you. You can also look on Nutrena's website and see who sells nearby. Good luck. I know you will see a difference in all of the horses you switch from any Purina product to Nutrena!

Switched my daughter's horse from Omolene 400 to Safechoice Perform & I love it.  He looks great & feels better than ever.  I also feed less than I did with the Omolene.
