I sold my LQ trailer over the weekend. I am looking for another LQ trailer. I don't have an endless budget either so my question is.....for a standard width trailer, which maker has the what feels like the roomiest layout in the LQ part?

Any of them.  Depends on the floor plan.  IMO putting the couch on the opposite wall from the door makes it feel bigger.  So does a higher ceiling.

Thanks, Thats what my thoughts were. I just didn't know if there was any one mid level manufacturer over another out there that seemed more roomy. I'm kinda in a pickle and need a trailer, listed mine and didn't expect it to be sold in 2 days!!! Yikes. Wish me luck on my search :) LOL!!

It just depends on layout and width and height,
I have always had 8 wide 7'5 tall...which is plenty room for a few people..

Go with the 8 ft wide. But a bad design can make that smaller too. Also go with higher ceilings. Makes it feel roomier.

I have been looking also.  I'm looking more at a weekender and from looking at 1038857393 trailers on here, it is amazing what can be done with 6 or 8 feet.  I saw a Dream Coach that had a really great use of space but have no idea about that brand??  To my knowlege, I've never seen one in person.  I also saw a Hart which I love love love but it is new and way out of my price range.

If you're looking at mid-level manufacturers, I'd look at Lakota if you get a chance. We're currently shopping as well and I decided I don't feel comfortable hauling/backing up an 8' wide trailer so we looked at a 6'9" wide Lakota with a slide-out and we really liked it. The slide only adds ~4-5k to the price, I thought it'd be way more. Good Luck!!!

I have to agree, and from what I'm seeing Lakota has made some really nice improvements to their products as of late.

The only difference is the vision. The axle width is the same on a 7' wide trailer as an 8' wide trailer. And you are only talking 6" per side.

Seems like more of an issue than it really is.

That seems to bother some people more than others, the not being able to see behind you thing. I could care less...never did bother me from the beginning, but I learned to pull a trailer with a 7.5' wide.

The reason I posted that was because it kept me from buying an 8 ft wide the first time I bougt an expensive full LQ trailer. I went with the 7 wide just because of that.

Once I realized the axles were t same width I traded it in on an 8 wide. That was an expensive lesson.

right that the axles are the same - but there is significant sight difference (whether it bothers some or not) between and 8ft wide "box" trailer and one that is not as wide. a 7ft is pretty easy to have an idea of what is behind you while driving - backing up they just feel more cumbersome even though the principle of backing up two different widths of trailers is the same - need to know what is back there before you back up. or just always go forward

I'm used to backing and manuvering and 379 long nose Pete with a 48' hopper bottom behind me. I will move hubby's grain rig around from one drive to another and it's a blind back in!! Fun..not. And I have to blink side in to my drive and essentially make an "S" shape and back into a hole next to my shop. I have hauled both 8' and standard width trialers before, so either doesn't worry me. Honestly, when I had an 8' wide trailer I eventually complained because of not enough room with 2 little kids. I've been in a standard 7' width trailer for 5 years now and really just like them. And the hubby says no to a slide out so a standard 7' is what this girl is getting.

Another thing that I have is get an extra wide door to your bathroom, if you can, it really makes it look and seem so much bigger

Right, if by significant sight difference you mean 6 inches?

If you have good mirrors on your truck you won't have any problem pulling an 8 wide. It's easy to maneuver if you have good mirrors.

Correct. You can either see 'em or you can't.
