So for those of us shopping where can we find a non-bulky, close fitting, ultra light, riding helmet.
The last one I bought was in my 4-H days and it was one of the huge velvet covered one and I hated it!

It depends on the shape of your head. Are you more oval or round?
I'm an oval and really like my Tipperary Sportage. Well...as much as I could probably like any helmet. It's light...and has good venting. Good price as well.
Round heads I think do better in a Troxel but I've not worn one in ages.

Just bought my daughter the new Troxel rebel series and it seems to fit very well and is a lot less bulky!

I sure wish we had some good places to shop around here. I think my head is more round maybe lol I don't know.

Look at the Ovation helmets. They have cool max washable liners, and the dial/click fit system. Price point is great on them as well. Much more comfortable than a troxel. There are many retailers who sell them. They are my favorite schooling types of helmets.

Absolutely agree. I have a very round head and love the Troxel. I have the one that costs right around $100 and really like it. It has a "cradel" inside that cushions my head.

I've got an oval-shaped head and Troxels always hurt.
I have a Tippery Sportage and I love it. It has a nice low profile and is comfortable to wear all day.

I wear a Tipperary Sportage and really like it. I did buy a Troxel that was on sale and it doesn't fit me right at all. I have never worn a helmet before recently so I don't have a lot to compare it to but the Sportage is low profile and I don't get hot in it at all.

See...It's all about the right helmet for your head shape.
I have friends that swore they always got headaches or hated helmets because they hurt to wear. Once they figured out wether they were round or oval and got the right helmet...Voila!
