I recently started giving lessons and it has really kicked off quick! What are some game and drills that I could do with the kids just to keep lessons fun and interesting but they are still learning at the same time??

Simon says is fun. Another one we used to do was set up obstacles and then take turns being leader to make up a pattern that the others had to follow. Set a limit to number of maneuvers per go for that one, or they will make it too confusing. Egg and spoon contest.

A popular riding lesson teacher I know will have different areas in the arena where the kids will have to get off of the horse and either set something up or remove an object and get back on the horse they are riding. It builds riding muscles to get on and off and this build the riders confidence and balance. The kids she works with love this! it takes a solid kids horse that will not run off when they drop the reins and get off to complete each task.
