I'm a hack freak! Love the little S and the Bozo Hack
(I have both the long and short shank
) plenty of lift with both of them and also depending on how much whoa you want adjust the curb accordingly.

JIM WARNER SHORT SHANK WITH BICYLE CHAIN NOSE.
COVER NOSE WELL WITH ELECTRICAL TAPE. IF CHAIN LINKS START TO FREEZE UP REMOVE TAPE CLEAN AND COAT WITH WD 40 LET IT SOAK IN THEN WIPE DOWN WITH SOFT CLOTH AND RETAPE. I FIND THAT A TAPED CHAIN IS LESS HARSH THAN THE ROPE NOSE.

The feel of a chain stays more consistent over time as well. Rope breaks in and changes.
