I'm thinking about a career change into this field. Does anybody have any experience?
Thank you.

I tried it for a little while. It isn't a bad career choice, but be sure that you are working with a reputable company and that you work in an office that already has existing clients and does some advertising so that there is a way to find new potential clients. It will take a long time to make decent money in insurance if you are not given any existing clients and have to start building your client base from scratch.
The company policies and Underwriters control a lot of what you can do so you have to be able to be direct enough to explain the rules and know that some people will not like what they are told.
If you work for a good company in a good office, then it can be a good business to be in.

Thank you for the info. This is good to know. I've been in sales all my life, but always had a base salary plus commission. Straight commmission is a bit scary....

Selling commercial insurance isn't much different than sellling P&C insurance. Most agencies will start you with salary plus commission. Little different format on how you insure, usually more paperwork to start but renewals are easy because usually there are no changes. Good Luck
