Location: Bastrop, Texas | Hats off to the Royals. I have been watching them and following them all year, and they are the real deal. You folks must be awfully excited about this ball club, and it's been a long time in the making. They are a very well rounded team and seem strong in all facets of the game.....offense, defense, pitching, and good fundamentals. I think Ned Yost is a real good manager, and I predict he will be AL manager of the year. My beloved Twins are in "rebuilding mode", so if I have to pick out an alternative team, it will be the Royals. I hope this Cinderella year continues for this classy team. I would LOVE to see the Royals make the playoffs! |

Location: Bastrop, Texas | I could get into a Royals - Cards series. I'm just so impressed with the Royals all the way around. They are the hottest team in baseball right now, and I can see why. This team is no fluke. |

I'm sorry, you are probably correct. I work in mid-town and the folks in Westport, down town and the Plaza that I run into at lunch or for business are all a-buzz about the Royals! My brother (who lives in Texas) is and has always been a Royals fan! |

I and everyone I know support the Royals 100 %, but not the other team mentioned.
Just a different opinion and view point |

| I gotta say the Royals are looking up this year compared to last year! I also like their stadium ... my dad says it isn't quite as cool as the renewed Target field or Safeco field but he'll still go watch baseball, eat peanuts, and drink beer with me!
Hotbear - my beloved Twins make me cringe this year. We'll get there, the rebuilding years are hard sometimes aren't they!?! |

In June we met up with a bunch of buddies and their significant others to Chicago for a weekend, which included a ball game at Wrigley, which was on my "bucket list". Next year the plan is to do the same thing in Boston. Every true baseball fan wants to see Fenway. Kauffman Stadium is on my list. It's a beautiful ballpark. What's fun is to take in the sights of these cities and try out a couple of their great restaurants. A perfect weekend getaway once a year.
As for Gordon and the Royals, I have been a Gordon fan for years. I saw his potential many years ago, and it's exciting to follow him. He went from being a good third baseman to a super outfielder, with possibly the most feared arm of any left fielder in the game. Gail remembers our conversations from way back when I used to tell her to just watch and see!
My beloved Twins are rebuilding and had to unload several superstars because of their contracts nearing the end, and they knew they couldn't compete with the big money ball clubs in the free agent market. Micheal Cuddyer was a fan favorite and went on to Colorado to win the batting title last year. This year Justin Morneau is on the same track. They traded them which freed up money to hold onto young bright prospects and to pick up others in trades. Just watch and see....the Twins will be back. They have several up-and-coming stallions. They are all young, but they impress the heck out of me, and it will be fun. This is exactly how they ended up winning the World Series in years past....by bringing up young talent from within the organization. I'm not a fair weather fan.....like my son! Argggh |

Yup. My Dad is a die hard Mariners fan. Living out in WA, we spent a lot of time up at Safeco. Talking about teams that rebuild ... we like to refer to Seattle as the Farm Team for the Big Leagues. LOL. It seems that they are always bringing up fabulous talent to watch it be picked off by teams with more money ... like Randy Johnson, A-Rod, etc - the list is really long.
I became quite the Twins fan when I was in college at SDSU in Brookings. A few hours road tripping with pals and a super fun ballpark had us all hooked! Funny you mention Morneau ... he and Mauer happened to be my two favs on the Twins. They are both class acts. It was a little disheartening to see Morneau head to the Rockies .... |

Location: Bastrop, Texas | The Twins have always been a classy organization....from Killebrew, Oliva, and Carew, to Puckett, Hunter, Santana, Mauer, and Morneau. They have all been very civic-minded and beloved by the community. They play the game the way it's supposed to be played, and their conduct off the field earns them a lifetime of being identified as a Twin. The usual scandals and off the field shenanigans are very rarely seen with Twins. |

You just got to get mean and mean it.
Location: Arkansas | While living over seas, we regularly listened to the ball game's via Armed Forces Radio Network. Because I'm from Missouri, grew up not far from Alba, Mo., had an aunt that followed the SLOU Cards regliously, I'm a Card's fan!! Plus, when in KC for a WalMart event, David Glass gave every one who was interested free ticket's to the KC Royals. They were in the nose bleed section.!! Birds didn't even fly that high! So much for David Glass and the KC Royals!! LOL |

Location: Oz, Kansas | I've been promising my son I would take him for years so we finally went the first of June, needless to say that was the start of their losing streak. I have vouchers for free tickets but I'm afraid to go because I don't want to jinx them. We had a great time. Just don't try to skinny dip in the outfield fountains, it's frowned upon. |
