Location: In the Hills of Texas | Not for a horse but I have for a dog. We had friends that were in the headstone business. I had it done for my sister in law. I don't have a picture of it but it turned out awesome. I gave them a picture and they etched her head on the granite. Can't remember what the wording was on it. |

Location: Southwest Minnesota | I have never bought a headstone...just used a big chunk of granite by where they are buried.
Here is one of my favorite quotes for any beloved animal: We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle; easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we would still live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan. -Irving Townsend
And here is a website that had a bunch of horse poems that might work: http://home.earthlink.net/~mwf3460/id8.html |

Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | We tried but they were going to be around $3,000 for a small one that once the grass grew you wouldn't see it. I had a guy that makes wood products make me a cross and he engraved his name in the wood and I painted it. |

Location: Louisiana | Here is what my boss did for her chihuaha (I know, not exactly a horse)... He is buried between 2 trees in her yard, his favorite place to do his "business" and hang out. She had a small piece of granite, stepping stone size, engraved with a picture of him with his name. Her husband set it in concrete to make it more sturdy. It is flush with the grass so it can be mowed over. Aaaanndd...facebook won't show me her pictures for some reason!! |

Location: South Dakota | My heart goes out to you...losing a good horse is just plain hard...and I am sure he will be greatly missed. When my good barrel horse died...the words came to mind, and I think of it often, when I pass by her grave..."Because she came by this way....Dreams came true"
