I also mentioned that IF they would be willing to lend me a used saddle to ride, I would be willing to send mine out as a demo to help them, and you all, try the saddles. She was going to talk to Jeff and see. He wasn't in and won't be until next week.
They often have barrel races at the arena where the shop is, so if I get down there, I will talk with Jeff further myself. He's alot easier to work with and is willing to think outside the box.
I'm trying to get them to build one demo saddle to send out like Crown C does. I think it would be a great selling tool for them, but sounds like the saddle shop is busy enough and increasing sales isn't a high priority.....IDK.
Herbie, I think that is a fantastic idea, and one that Jeff would be open to I would think. Although mine is not a cutter mine is the Mary Walker edition saddle, this is my second and newest Jeff Smith saddle, and I LOVE it.
This is the first saddle in five years that my husband and I both like. You have a good seat, but are not trapped at all.
Edited to say this is the first time it had been on a horse, and my horse wouldn't stop eating grass while I was attempting to take a picture.
Hubba hubba that is a fiiiiiine saddle!

roanrider - 2014-08-19 7:32 PM If you ride in a 14.5-14.75" Caldwell would you ride in the same type cutting saddle? If not what would you suggest?
I can ride anything from a 14 - 15" barrel saddle depending on what it is and how it's set up. Both of my Caldwell's were 14.75. My cutting saddle is a 15" and I think it fits me nicely. I think it just depends on how each saddle is set up, fenders hung, ground seat, etc that determines the seat size. My Ed Wright had a 14" seat in it and I was fine in it, but it didn't have any ground seat or rise. My Contenders were 14.5", but had more pommel and cantle, so I felt I needed a bit more room. Does that make sense? Probably didn't answer your question at all, but i'd say you'll ride about the same size in this saddle as you would a Caldwell.
Makes complete sense. I've ridden in 14" that were roomier than 14.75" so I get what you're saying. I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for a 15". Thanks!

Thank you, I LOVE it... I was so excited when Jeff called to say it was complete! This was actually my second one I got, my first one was alot plainer, but after I got it and fell in love with it I was ready to order another fancier one!
