Location: Ky | I'm starting a new chapter and joining my colleges equestrian team, so I'll be showing western pleasure and reining beginning next semester. Since I have zero experience with either of the two, I have to invest in some show clothes, and I'm not really sure where to begin looking. What are some good brands to look for? |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | I think there is a site that carries some nice used show clothes. They are priced so darn high. What size are you? I think our daughter still has some of hers that she would probably sell. |

Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | www.cowgirlglitter.com she has new and used show clothes. Including belts. Every now and then She may have some jeans and boots. If this isn't something you want to sink a ton of money into instead of buying jeans to match every shirt. I would go to Walmart or something and buy nice dress pants. There cheaper and more comfortable. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | if you are on facebook search for all the show clothes for sale forums. You can pick up some great things. Hobby horse are usually cheap made anymore and not fitted quite right. You can get some great all day jackets for $300 or so, that way you can show showmanship-pleasure-eq-trail etc. |

Location: Southwest Minnesota | My middle daughter shows Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Western Horsemanship, English Pleasure and English Equitation. I bought her shirt at Rods.com on sale and her pants are made by her Grandma. Simple dress pants that are a little long on you will work. How the clothes fit is very important. The shape of the Western hat is very important. I think simple looks better than all the crazy bling some of them come up with. You could even go with a nice fitting plain colored button up shirt with a scarf. Check out Hobby Horse's broken heart sale, they have some really good deals. You will need a little makeup and definitely some lip color. Earrings with a little sparkle are nice addition to the outfit. I don't know about where you are at, but here on the college equestrian teams you do not ride your horse, you will ride whatever horses that college has that you are competing at so a more neutral color would be advised. Also, if you are showing English as well and already own a helmet, you can buy a black velvet helmet cover to make it look like an English helmet. A tailored jacket is the most important item for the English discipline. You can purchase one from a second hand or consignment store. You will need a shirt with a stand up collar. I have used a plain button up shirt and tucked the fold over part of the collar inside the shirt or taken it off to make it look right. Also a pin for the front of the neck. Black leggings are cheap and will work for the pants and they make cheap rubber riding boots or check for used ones on e-bay or facebook. Tack Trader is a good site to search too. Here are some pictures of my daughter...
