I have a bottle of lasix that has turned dark brown. Is it safe to give to my horse? I'm at a rodeo and am trying my hardest to find someone with some. But it's getting down to the wire and he can't run without it. Will it be slightly less effective or could it harm him?? If a vet or someone knowledgable knows please reply!! Thank you!!

Honestly, I wouldn't but knowing where you are at, I would give it orally and give a little more than normal. Because it it less effective orally and when it turns, it is old....so you don't want to give it in the vein. Just my opinion and just what I have done in the same situation!

Thank you! I normally give it in the muscle, would I give it at the same time out orally?

My vet told me this is normal and not a concern, and can still be used. It happens when it interacts with oxygen.

Thank you. I'm going to try and get a bottle tomorrow, there are a couple vets offices around here according to google. If not, I'll use what I have. Thanks!
