Location: NC | I have a new project gelding and I am not sure what tack colors to use on him. I don't really like too flashy, more like neutrals. I have always had bay mares in the past and used hunter green for awhile and now use black/leather/ and leopard boots. but I sort of wanted a different color for him. I was thinking maybe white, cream, or tan but am afraid it will be too hard to keep white clean and wonder if tan will clash with his color... What do you guys use, share pictures? Not the greatest picture but give you an idea of his color.

Location: North Dakota | I've found that royal blue, turquoise, hunter green, black, white/cream, and light blue are my favorites on them. For neutrals, I like cream, rust, and chocolate. As much as I love leopard, I just can't bring myself to like tan on a sorrel. My man and I are both blue eyed redheads, so light blue looks good on us. He's the new kid so I'm still accumulating all his stuff. His tack/saddle will be dark oil and I'm going to use rust, cream, and light blue as well. |

Location: Kansas | I really like turquoise on my sorrels, and hunter green is probably my second favorite followed by white. I use leopard print on them sometimes and as far as clashing with their color, it depends on the exact shade of sorrel. Clifford is a lighter sorrel while Streak is really red and I actually use red & white polka dot polo wraps on him quite a bit. Royal blue looks really good as well. I've heard that greens and blues look good on all colors of horses and I do tend to agree with that. I have a bay, a gray and two sorrels so I've got a little of everything in my pasture. Here's a color wheel to give you "show horse" ideas of colors for different horses. http://www.hobbyhorseinc.com/dress-for-success/winning_colors/index.shtml

Over the winter I bought purple for my dk bay horse, but I have to have him put down and I hate the thought of purple on my sorrel. they were the Relentless and I got them on sale and now don't want to use them. darn |
