My dog is a 9 year old Blue Heeler/Rottweiler mix. I’ve noticed recently that when he first gets up he’s a bit gimpy. (Understandable with his age.) Today, after lying on the tile, he went to walk off, out of nowhere he started crying. I went over to him, rubbed him all over and he was fine after. I’m pretty sure it’s arthritis. Any recommendations for good doggie supplements that work well?

He’s pretty active around the farm, but you can tell he’s starting to slow down some.

I give my older queensland - Liquid Health K9 Glucosmine. She LOVES it. I just pour it on some food and she doesnt miss a piece. Defiantly notice more spring in her step with it as well. Pretty reasonably priced. When she gets real bad I will give her a Previcox pill.

The dog supplements from Silver Lining work great and they are all natural.

I have a 3 legged tripod , a 3 footed tripod and a female with billateral effused knees.

I use Fish Oil (from costco ) in capsule form and poke the capsules . I get a HUGE bottle for $9.99 and lasts for a while, even I take it .
I also get Gluocsamine / MSM & Chondroitin in the capsules you can open from Whole Foods (or any health food store) and put the powder in lunch meat $34.99 .

THE has great dog supplements! It's their JointPLUS but for dogs. You have to call to order since they are still working on getting their Canine line online.

Cosequin with MSM has worked great for our dogs.  My Cocker has a bone chip on her front leg that made her limp.  She is now acting like a pup again.  Great stuff and you can get it real affordably from Amazon.

Don't waste money on oral. Get adequan injections for him.

Edited to add that I'd give previcox too if the pain warranted it.

I have fed Dasqauin with MSM for years.  I have a giant breed Alaskan Malamute that has bad hips and joints and is doing fantastic on it. I feed the chews and they love it. Been using it for years with no complaints. I buy it on Amazon.

I have used this, too, on my lab/shepherd rescue dog.  When we got her she was around 6 and had already started limping.  Have been feeding Dasuquin w/MSM ever since and she is now 12 and acts like a pup.

Ditto, I have 3 older dogs and my red heeler was really showing her age... started them on Ceytl M and I think I really noticed a huge difference after about 30 days... she now looks like a girl half her age, chasin balls as much as you will throw them and no limp!!! :)

We use glyco flex for our dogs. Our farm vet had told us to look for natural sources (usually something like crab, mussels, etc) if you are going to go with oral supplements otherwise the animal can't absorb it and you are just wasting your money.
