RE: Horse injured/died at Pendleton?
Location: horseback looking for cows
I was there up close and witnessed the accident. It was a freak accident! The committee did everything they could immediatley after it happened to help the horse. He got the best care once out of the arena before it was determined that he had broken his leg in an area that was not repairable. It could happen at any arena anywhere. Remember what happened to "Rooster"? I feel horrible for Trisha.

Sad to hear stuff like that but I do agree, barrel racers need better ground. At the Reno Rodeo, they will set the barrels up and let them run. When they pick up the barrels, they will bring a tractor out and groom the dirt for bull riding. The ground is so hard out in the arena and I think if they have 3 mins to groom for the bulls, then they should have 3 mins to groom the dirt for the barrel racers.
