I'm trying to help my daughter figure out how to get into ultrasound/xray  work.  She doesn't want to have to take courses that don't apply to that type of work.  Anywhere that just teaches you the job, but certifies you as well>?

In our area they go to the local technical school.  Google ones in your area.

Even though your daughter may not want to take classes that don't directly apply to her work field many programs have gone to associate degree curriculum. Which in most employers eyes look better than just a certificate. Not sure how old your daughter is but sometimes as adults we have o do things we don't want to do in order to better ourselves in the long run

Even though you may not be writing papers for xray work, you still have to know how to communicate and search for information.  You may not be solving algebra equations taking an xray, but you have to be able to problem solve with unknowns.    Hence the classes that may not seem like they actually pertain to the work, but in reality, they do, from a different perspective.

Radiologist's are one of the highest paying jobs in the medical field. There are no shortcuts. The classes required while some may not seem pertinant to the job itself, certainly ARE! They have to be able to write reports and prognosis. They have to be fluent in all aspects of english, spelling, writing, medical termenology, the human body, and then the equipment itself. Tell her if she wants to make the big bucks, to suck it up and put the time in now. When she's making good money and will have her career for the rest of her life and will always be ok and not dependant on anybody else or stuck in a bad marriage because she has no means of supporting herself, she will look back and be glad she did.

I am attending Career Quest in Lansing Michigan. They offer courses in the Medical field. Give them a call perhaps they have what your looking for. Several learn to take blood Anatomy. It is a fast paced course that last 8 months. They Offer Certicates. If she wants to go futher she can go to the bigger colleges. This is accelerated learning no time for play.
