| couod someone explain the cliff notes version of what Isis is and what is going on, who our enemies and allies are. I have been living under a rock and want to catch up. |

| The leader of ISIS was once a high up in Al Qaeda. At one point he had something like a $10 million bounty on his head. He stopped taking orders from Al Qaeda so the booted him out and he formed ISIS. The new leader of Iraq was tearing the country apart because he was against one sect (can't think of the name). People were tired if the conflict so they started following ISIS without realizing how evil it was. ISIS now feels that anyone who doesn't believe in their extreme views are infidels. People either conform to the ISIS beliefs or they are killed. Many if the women are sold into slavery. I saw thus in 60 Minutes the other night. It's very scary stuff. ISIS makes roughly $6 million a day in revenue. Taxes, donations, etc. |

isis caliphate timeline. * u.s. provides technology and weapons to a free iraq. * obama withdraws troops from iraq (all of them ). * isis defeats iraqis and take...s millions in u.s. technology and weapons. * isis uses u.s. technology and weapons to kill everyone in its' path. * obama gives other terrorist groups u.s. technology and weapons to fight isis. we now have boots back on the ground to fight the same war we had already won. we are now going to have to spend millions of dollars and risk more u.s. lives, having terrorists shoot at us with our own weapons...just to try to get back to a place we left behind. i see change alright, but it's not forward change...it's obama change.

Location: Loma Linda, CA | I have read the Qu'ran for a religion class (humanities) in the beginning of undergrad... Isis, Al Quaeda etc... This is not part of the Islam religion. Personally, after becoming familiar with Islam I almost considered practicing it since it was very relatable.
However, I remain agnostic borderline christian (I do go to church sometimes).
These are crazy extremists, just like we have Christian extremist (westboro).
To say that all muslims and those who practice Islam is our enemy is extreme as well.
Freedom of religion, yo.

| Saying these extreme groups are not Islam is Luke saying Methodists aren't Christian. It's ludicrous. These extreme groups are a denomination of Islam. That is why so many people followed them and supported them. They want an Islamic state and that is what ISIS is offering. Granted it's an extreme group just like the KKK in American history. But just as the KKK was founded on Christianity beliefs, ISIS is founded on Islamic beliefs. |

On FOX one morning I watched a video of an ISIS terrorist chuckling as he mockingly showed us a brand newish Ford F-350 they had confiscated. One of many the U.S. sent to the cowardly Iraqi army. "A fine car" the guy said. A vehicle I can't afford was given to terrorists with my tax contributions. |

I, too, have taken a world religions class as part of my history degree. I believe that if you took the GOOD from each religion and encompassed it all into one, you'd be the perfect person. THAT BEING SAID: in the beginning of the Quran, it speaks of peace and understanding, but also says that anything said in the beginning should be superseded by what is said after that. In the end, Mohammed calls on Muslims to do exactly what the extremists are doing now. So Islam is not a religion of peace. YES, those who do practice Islam and are peaceful should DEFINITELY be able to practice that way, as I'm sure they are wonderful people (I have a Muslim friend who I think is great), but ISIS is doing exactly what they have been called to do in their holy book. |

Okay...because there isn't a dislike button I'll just say it to you. You are probably the most ignorant person on this board. You say things like this with your head in the sand. Do you know all muslims? Do all muslims follow the Koran without deviation, do all christians follow the bible without deviation? You make comments that are not fact based, so I'd like to see your reasoning for making all inclusive statements like this and many others you have posted. |
