Just wondering how often everyone uses their magnetic blankets and why?  Just looking for ideas and the best benifit for my horse. I just recently purchased a magnetic blanket and just curious as to when do you use yours? Daily? At runs only? When hauling? ETC

I purchased my set of magnet products last year around Thanksgiving from PHT Magnetics. I purchased the fall basket which was a great deal...Be ready for it this year ;) In it came tendon wraps, 3 n 1 wraps, bell boots, fly mask, and a blanket. I use these magnets all of the time. They are a huge part of my routine.

Currently, I am working on rehabbing my mare from a hock injury. She got caught in a fence and cut herself right in the front of the hock...this was in June so we have been working hard to get her healed. My farrier said when he saw the wound this summer that it would take a year to heal, it would never go back to the previous size it was, and it would forever be really ugly. I used silver lining herbs power dust to make a wound dressing then wrapped the wound every other day with the dressing. On top of that I put on my tendon wrap and the hock wrap. Currently the wound is almost all together, her hock is no longer swollen, and we are starting to work on stretching and strengthening. I do not think she would have recovered nearly as quickly or as well without the magnets. So now I wrap her leg every other day with the dressing and magnets and on the other days she gets turned out to move around.

I also use the magnetic blanket when I am hauling to and from races. I think it helps keep them in good condition. When their surroundings are changing and they are exposed to many different situations I think it helps keep them healthy. If you go to the PHT website they have a list of all of the benefits of their products. I've also used it on my 24 year old gelding and it seemed to really help him be more comfortable and move better. Since I only have one blanket for 4 horses I usually put it on each horse while I'm riding a different horse when I'm out working with my horses so they each get 30 minutes to 45 minutes daily with it on.

I hope that helps! I love my pht magnets and think they really work. However, I know that not all magnets are made the same so maybe research up on the therapy and see what company produces the best product.

Depends on the brand and type.  Some require build up some don't.  Some say it isn't okay to use if horse is sick. Some say it is.  Your best advice would come from the company that made the blanket.

Thanks guys each of your comments helped alot.  I put it on her this morning for about 45 min before working her and seh was so relaxed and FULLLLLLLL of her self all at the same time.   Last night I had put it on her after I rode adn just let her stand tied and about 15 min into it she was licking her lips and her head was dropped.
I also have an older mare I want to put it on due to she is trying to get back in shape and get rid of a sore back

I have 1 PHT magnetic blanket and use it on my two rodeo horses. Clifford literally licks his lips when he sees me coming with the blanket. When we're traveling, I almost always have it on one horse or the other. It very rarely sits in my trailer just because you get more benefit from magnets the more you use them. Anytime I've got one of them stalled or tied up for a while, I put the blanket on. Just have to remember not to turn them loose in a dirt lot with a white blanket on......lol.

I have a PHT and use it hauling to and from races for my gelding and the whole time he isn't saddled. I have colts that don't necessarily need it, but I paid a good chunk of money for it so they get it when tied to the trailer and I am riding something else. I would love for my gelding to wear it more, but all my horses are turned out together and it would be destroyed in no time. I try to get it on him as much as possible though.

Yep. My horse seems to prefer bi polar mags. I use them traveling for my back and hip and they really do make a difference.

You need to talk to Julie and go to the PHT web site, I think that she has a lay away plan..

My boyfriend has a tmag for one horse and won a PHT for his mare last year in NBHA. When we go to shows with both trailers full, that PHT is in use all the time because it fits all the horses except Streak so we just rotate it between Honey, Chance and Hawk. Matt's Joker likes the tmag blanket - he will about fall asleep with it on at the trailer and he is normally super alert.

Clifford got himself hung up on the front divider of the trailer this morning on our way home from rodeo finals and is probably pretty sore right about now. I think he is trying to get locked up in a small pen & get to wear the PHT blanket more often this week. Brat.

Anyone else with input on TMags? Do you have the deluxe or the standard? And does anyone like any other brands?
