Oh and when I pulled him out of his stall last night for his last treatment of the day he is was moving MUCH better. Still tender but he almost walked without a limp!

I was at the vet yesterday for the same reason. The screw fell out but my vet was able to find the puncture. He blocked his foot, pulled his shoe, cleaned him up. His first impression was that it was not too deep but he put an instrument in the wound and x-rayed showed it went to the coffin bone just in front of the tendon sheath. His concern is that it may have nicked the coffin bone and said that would be hard to see on x-ray. He is on 30 cc gentamiacin and pen for 3 days , wait 2 days and a round of tucoprim. He told me that he expects him to be a little sore but if he gets worse in the next few days to get him back in there asap, may be dead bone in there. Foot is wrapped, I change it daily for a week. Horse is moving great today. Hope your guy is better soon.
