We are supposed to ENCOURAGE one another, not tear them down....and as for that quote....I knew a girl that ran a horse that went down the fence for a year. I used to feel so sorry for her, but she kept at it and kept working with him and she ended up going to the IFR 3 years in a row and won the average 1 year. When he finally quit going down the fence, he was a force to be reckoned with and he was definitely a 1D horse....so don't say it can't happen....I've SEEN it happen. Next time you feel like saying something negative, try turning it around to something positive. You can help make someone's day instead of ruining it for them.

Location: Cocoa, Florida | I have a horse that after 5 years is running a whole second faster, he's even hit bottom of 2D in big shows in FL which is hard when you're running against Fame Fling & Bling down here, the south is getting extremely hard!!!!
I don't know if I just learned to ride better (probably) or if riding the colts helped but either way I used to be the 4D Queen.
Having a 1D horse would be amazing and not all of us can afford to go out and buy one but I've learned with persistence, lessons and commitment any horse and rider can get better if they work for it! I think to many people give up on their horses to early! |

I've seen it happen too. Horse quit running up the fence, as the rider only let him high lope (not run) to the first. Then, they smoked everyone for several years. |

| I am glad the majority would prefer to encourage. I beat myself up plenty without other people helping me out! I am sure I am not alone either! A horse I rode consistently in the mid 3D became a 2D wonder after 10+ years of running BECAUSE I LEARNED to KICK. Some of us don't have the luxury to buy finished horses or sell those that don't perform to perfection within a few months. Summers are SHORT and winters are LONG and it takes what seems like forever to get a horse going. To Each THERE OWN!
