Animal Empath -  These folks can think and feel as any animal in their immediate space.  Not to say they can’t reach out and feel them too, but usually it comes in the most obvious ways.  These folks can actually send and receive visuals from animals.  They can see hurts and pain, and they can also test this by simply sending a visual of something they would like the animal to do, and the animal does it.  Most people who work with animals come from a linage of people that have done the same.  Empath traits are genetic.  So while you watch someone that can’t quite understand why their horse won’t do as they want, and you can simply tell the answer, you might be an animal empath
Are you an empath?
Do you walk into a room and know how people are feeling?
Do you dislike crowds?
Can you tell when people or animals aren’t feeling well?
Can you lighten a person’s mood just by being around?
Do people, sometimes strangers come up to you and tell you their problems?
Do you get overwhelmed when near strong emotions?

I know a lot of you are empathic towards your critters.  I was just wondering if you all had heard the term or if it makes sense to you.

I would venture a guess that most people who are good with animals are empaths whether they recognize it or not.

I can say yes to more than half the questions you have listed, but I never knew of such a thing. But I'm not sure I could say that I am. Interesting to think about though.

Yes to all of them! At times it's overwhelming and draining. At times it's frustrating but then you realize not everyone has that gift. And I do think it's a gift.

I am. I would call my neighbor and ask if her horse was sick cuz I felt sick and know what is going on. I can say yes to most of the questions.

Yes, and its very draining to be in a crowd of people. I'm very close to my animals, the bond is extremely strong- esp with my Mustang I adopted, we seem to just know what we are each thinking . Sounds corny I know, but training him has been the easiest, most rewarding adventure :)

I am an Empath, have been my whole life but just really figured it all out the last couple of years! I know some people see colors with animals as communication...I actually have conversations...makes no sense and I cant explain it but ....ya  I remember growing up I'd sit in the pasture with the cows and have conversations with them, to me it was normal!

The key with animals, well let's talk horses is they don't always tell the same thing to every person...some will chose to tell u nothing!

Why does this make me think of the Lone Ranger (with Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp)??? LOL.

I answered yes to most questions. I am a bit of an empath with animals especially dogs but I am extremely intuitive to people's emotions and character. Like someone said it's super overwhelming and draining sometimes cause I don't just see their feelings and character but I FEEL it in my core. It also is hard when people I'm close with aren't that way cause I don't understand when they don't "get it" and treat me like I'm blowing smoke. I also think my Dad is an empath. He is like the damn pied piper with all animals I swear

Actually now that I'm reading more about it, it makes so much sense. I also think my 11 year old son might be one. But not necessarily my daughter. Very interesting subject.

Im going to say I am probably one. I was just telling my husband that I can sense what a horse is feeling. And not just my horses, any horse. I asked him not to mention it to anyone. I dont want them to think I am more weird than they already do. I have a bond with my problem gelding like no other. He trusts me and its almost like he talks to me. My retired mare is the same way. I know as soon as I step out in the pasture if something is wrong. Twice now she has came up to eat and it was dark. I just knew something was wrong. The first time her shoulder was laid open and needed stitches. The 2nd time she had kicked through a fence and was cut pretty bad. Both times it was pitch dark and there are no lights. I told my husband, get me a light theres something wrong with her. He told me no theres not. I said YES there is. I was correct.
I HATE crowds and avoid them at all costs. I can sense when someone isnt feeling right, or down and just blah. Its hard for me to not want to help.

good post! Thanks!

My computer has been down, and I just saw all the posts.  I put it out there because there are those that feel these things and it can be confusing.  It is a very misunderstood gift, (some wouldn't say it is very gift-like).  For those that feel "too much" from other people.  Try and think of it like reading a newspaper.  Sure you have the information, but you shouldn't feel you need to do anything about it.  Sometimes we pick stuff up just to validate the gift.  We get to pick and choose our assignments.... and if you don't take it someone else will.

But with our animals it is really pretty cool when you have that amazing bond.
