Longneck - 2014-10-13 1:18 PM Good luck!  Hope all goes well!  My horse was in need of some groceries when I bought him and I slowly changed his feed and started giving him soaked alfalfa cubes 2-3 times a day and slowly introduced him to grass.  He was previously without much grass and had just came out of winter.  He took on the weight easily and happily!  Maybe he had gotten ulcers from being away at the trainers?  I'm sure it's just all the work he's being doing, but maybe look into treating ulcers as well. 

 Glad you mentioned ulcers, had not thought of that.   I have some ulcer guard, if I get him I am going to treat him.

Location: Texas		I would not worry about the weight too much. Like longneck said I would treat for ulcers since many develop them while at trainers. Then just give him some good groceries and he should be fine.

Told him I had scheduled a vet check and he said he decided not to sell him and is picking him up today.  Bummed :(   Oh well, other horses out there.
