Location: Oregon | Here’s my donkey, Donkey! I have a love/dislike relationship with this donkey. He is personality plus, hilarious, very entertaining, sturdy, looks cute in the pasture, low maintenance – BUT he can be grumpy, he think he’s all that and a bag of chips, he only really loves men, and he will chase my cats and dog. My dog is very donkey savvy and I always have an eye on him when he follows me out where the donkey is, in fact he’ll usually wait at the gate. But, donkey has nearly killed my cats a couple times and will go after other dogs if given the chance so I’m always on the donkey watch when we have visitors. He’s an awesome security system though because I know whenever someone has pulled into the driveway as he stands guard right at the driveway gate and/or will bray if whomever arrived doesn’t pay him any attention. He’s a turd, but we love him. I threaten to send him to the Grand Canyon and sign him up for tourist trail rides when he gets on my last nerve…

Location: Ohio | I love hearing the stories about everyone's donkeys. Can't wait to get one! Is there anything I should look out for when shopping for one? Any conformation flaws that are red flags? The only thing I wont put up with is a kicker... |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I have 3 Donkeys, 1 Jenny and 2 are gelded, the jenny's name is Miss Donkay and I have a Herman and a Delbert. They were rescue's that I have had for about 7 years now and they have their own pasture. There is many that needs homes but all I have is room for these 3 in the front pasture... When the Jack came over is was a fight the old man Herman hated the Jack, I was going to geld him but dang it was going to cost a pretty penny so I found him a new home..Here is a few pictures of mine..
Well these pictures are of Delbert, cant find any pictures of the others.

Location: Ohio | There are maybe 8 donkeys for sale within a 3 hours radius of my place... what I wouldn't give to be closer to you guys down south. Anyone planning any trips to Ohio? You could drop me off a few! lol j/k  |

So cute!!! I love the chocolate and grays. I'm wondering how my horses will react to one? 2 of my guys are under 3 yrs old and have never seen anything close to resembling a donkey. I may have to film the first meeting... I'm pretty sure my barrel horse freak the first time he hears it braying, he is a little sensitive. |

My horses have lived with donkies for ever, never had a problem till I bought a black mini.
My horses were terrified of him for the first month, after that he became one of the group |

Thank you, I think they are cute too, I need to take pictures of the others and have them on my computer, my donkey's have their own pasture so I wont have to worry about any body getting hurt, Delbert the one in the picture was raised with horses, when the man got sick and moved away they sold the horses and turned him loose, so he kinda moved in over here, and he is the sweetest one out of the three, Herman was a roping dummie, they used him to practice roping his heels then I came along and got him, hes a bit shy with strangers but a sweet one too. And Miss Donkay will lets just say she dont like being a pet, she'll eat a treat but thats about as far as she will go, dont want to be petted at all. |

Location: Ohio | That was one of the selling points to the hubby! lol No grain required. I know they can founder really easy which worries me about spring grass. I'm assuming I will have be careful about turnout time in our horse pasture and keep it penned in our dry lot when the grass is really lush? |

| Hi, I just did a Craigslist check there are several in ohio and a lot more in West Virgina. 50 dollars to 400. Not sure where you are in ohio. Most seem to be in the center of the state and in the southeast part. Hope that helps. |

Im near Athens, Ohio (southeast)... Didn't see the lower priced ones so I will have to recheck. Also wanted to add that Im leaning more towards standard or mammoth donkeys. There are tons of mini's in my area. I also got the coyote pack numbers wrong... hubby said he has seen as many as 10 running around together at a time! I would think 1 small donkey could be easily overtaken.

| Can you adopt from the BLM? I know they occasionally have halter broke donkeys available and I think the adoption fee is $75, but I think there is some "housing stipulations" too. |

Location: MS | You can't give them away here in the South. If you take them to the sale barn you will owe money. We just had two get put in our pasture last week because they were out on the road. Come to find out the pasture they got out of was not their owners. They found them on the road over a year ago, put them in their pasture, and no one ever claimed them. |
