Location: USA | I read somewhere that a taller cantle helps support your lower back, is this true? I know I had a 5" cantle before and never had back issues then went to a different saddle with a 4" cantle and my lower back hurt whenever I rode in it. Anyone know?? |

Location: USA | I've never had an issue with it hitting me, but can it make it harder to sit down in your turns? It's been a while since I rode in one and I don't remember. |

Location: Arkansas | If your seat is too small and your saddle has a high cantle, it can throw you forward when you try to sit down.. Then your feet go behind you and it can cause some unwanted issues. Higher cantle's aren't always what they're cracked up to be..If you ride a saddle with a high cantle, you may need to think about getting a bigger seat.. Your butt has to have somewhere to go when you stand up in your stirrups to get up and over your horse and when you try to sit down in your turns.. If it has no where to go, it will just hit the cantle and throw you forward and out and over the front.. I think they hinder more than they help.. Just my opinion of course!! |

Location: Wisconsin | I just got one of those Just be Natural saddles, and it has that 5 inch cantle. Dont like it, as first of all, i have a huge horse, and it seems i have to lift my leg so much higher, then feel like im getting into one of those saddles they ride camels or elephants with. lol |

Yes I totally agree with this. I've had a couple saddles with high cantles that were a little too small and it is not a good feeling. I really love my Pozzi though with the higher cantle. I've never felt pushed out of that one. |

How high is the cantle on your Pozzi Shan? |
