I almost always keep my trailer hooked up to my truck unless I'm using it to haul hay. Saturday I noticed  BURN marks on the back side of both of the head rests! - My only conclusing is that the polished aluminum nose of my trailer was reflecting the sun like a magnifying glass and darned near burned holes in my head rests!! I had it parked facing the east. Has anyone EVER had this happen? I was floored!

It seems that as the sun moved, it should have made one long mark....

Doesn't light diffuse when it travels through tinted glass?

It makes you wonder how hard that would be on horses eyes if they were tied to the trailer and the sun was reflecting.

Out here in AZ I know of a few horses that were sun burned bad from polished alum trailers. I didn't see it but I guess it could happen.

Only the nose of my trailer is polished and the horses stand at the rear of the trailer.

..... I need these to look at mine after it's been acidized and is standing in the bright sunlight.  Honestly I prefer it a little dirty.

A friend had two trucks damaged at different times from being parked in front of her polished nose trailer. The trailer was facing east both times, and the trucks were facing west. The bug deflector at the front of her truck's hood was bubbled in a line about 1/2 inch wide and several inches long that looked like a segmented worm. Her son's truck had the paint bubbled on its hood.

Thank you for sharing! I thought I was the only one this had ever happened to!

I've seen it happen very similarly. they had cloth seats and noticed the head rests looked like someone took a lighter to them! it was crazy! I'm glad I have a flat white trailer now that you said this!

ETA: nobody really knew why. when you brought this up it made me think that must be it, they had an all aluminum trailer too!
