Location: Never in one place long | I did this once on a filly, same exact scenario as you're describing. It didn't work as well as I'd hoped, since I was the one who did the breaking out and riding, the other person thought I should have to pay for the maintenance etc. so it was always a battle to get half the money for costs as i always paid for them up front. Then when down the road years later, we went to sell the horse, the market was down and we didn't get as much for the horse as we'd hoped and I took a higher amnt of the $ beacuse of all the work I had invested etc, she got upset.
That being said, I think if you have a good contract and know the person is responsible etc. It might work but don't let it ruin a friendship! It didn't mine but we had some hard feelings for a while. Also, you'll want to be in agreement about what will happne shoudl the horse get hurt, for example, what if the horse collics and one says yes do surgery, other says no way... who pays then? |

| Read this thread and then ask yourself if you still want to form a partnership on a horse. Reference: Mary Walker http://forums.barrelhorseworld.com/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=446763&posts=332&mid=6958300&highlight=mary+walker&highlightmode=1&action=search#M6958300 |

Location: Weatherford, TX | Personally....I would not do it. I haven't seen one partnership work yet over 25 years. I swear there are no two people that take care of a horse completely the same and agree. I have seen A LOT of hard feelings at the end and have just seen partnerships go really wrong. Just my opinion.

Location: Midwest | Even if I had the worlds best contract written up, NO!!! Lol
Stay away!
Two ladies that board at my barn went in half on a horse trailer 2 months ago, now they are suing eachother. Going in halves never makes anything easy!!!
If you don't own it 100%. Don't have it!
Edited because I can't spell :P
