Someone tell me a little about these and your horse(s) that have needed them? Was it reacurring? Or just a one time deal? What caused the soreness?

Mine just had his done 10 days ago now. I've posted before about the lameness issues were dealing with and she thinks he is sore from a bad fall we had february 2013, we didn't have him vetted after the fall because he showed no signs of being sore. She thinks whatever happened he healed maybe not completely but mostly and then reinjured it.

Anyways any info would be great because I had never even heard of this!

I have a gelding that fell with me the 2nd time I ever ran him. He caught is front shoe with his back foot, went down on the front, and did the splits in the back. First vet, didn't do a very thorough exam and injected his stifles. After about a year, I took him to another vet who checked his SI and after getting the history, said it was most likely his SI impacted, not the stifle. We need to have it done about every 18 months if I'm running him consistently. Works wonders.

Three of my horses with "SI" issues were later found to have EPM.  The SI injections just made them even worse.

SI injections are well worth the money if your horse truly needs them! Mine does & it makes all the difference in the world in his runs! It's the difference between
3d & 1d for him! Absolutely worth it!

I almost retired my 6 year old after a bad fall. Couldn't get him to take a sound step. Chiro suggested SI injections to help with the inflammation and keeping the adjustments. I had a whole new horse in just a few days. It was incredible. It has been 3 years since getting them and he is still good to go.
