My baby does not seem healthy, dry brittle coat, very slow picky eater, not putting on weight pot belly wormy look and a little lethargic.
We weaned her and sent her to be halter broke, she was a typical baby, fat sassy and full of spunk, I knew she would lose a little after weaning and she does not look "bad" but her lack of appetitie is worrying me and she certainly does not look good. She has been home 2 weeks and is not putting on weight or growing and to me looking worse by the day, it takes her forever to eat anything and she is super picky. We are talking 3 hours to eat half a can of equine jr.  We have tried diffrent feed, same result, she has been wormed twice (day she came home and again a few days ago) she has a buddy pony, a goat, pasture, lick tub and free choice quality hay on top of being grained. She just isn't thriving and I'm not real sure where to go from this point.

ulcers. My sister had this happen with a weanling and had her scoped. Hers was bad and it took a while for her to recover.

Definitely ulcers. I just had one shipped in that was doing the exact same thing and after 4 days on Gastroguard he was HUNGRY and back to normal.  He's getting the Gastroguard for 28 days to heal the ulcers and other than that everything else is the same.

Sounds like a textbook ulcer case, especially following weaning and coming home from the trainer.  There are some great threads on this forum with good ulcer treatment advice, or get in touch with your vet.

I didn't even finish the whole posted question and I knew it was Ulcers. I'm not sure if it's the same as a regular horse but I feed 707's Ulcer medicine. No idea what it's called I just tell my feed guy to get 707s ulcer stuff LOL
Haven't had a problem since. But like I said: I have no weanling exxperience.

The GastroPLUS will make a huge difference. I never thought about weanlings getting ulcers either, but any kind of stress can cause them and I can't think of a much more stressful event than getting weaned. I had a yearling have a minor colic issue on me, took him to the vet and nothing was really wrong. He suspected ulcers because this particular colt had been hurt more often than not. Healing from one thing or another had given him ulcers. Any time I have a horse that has a change in behavior or looks unthrifty, I treat for ulcers first.

Ulcers. Digestive ULR IS what I use for ulcers. I saw a difference in a few days.

Do you have any pictures of her?  She sounds like she could be really wormy.

I agree, ulcers.  Ulcergard is what we treat with and you should see results within a week.  She will start eating like a pig.  Stress on horses of any age can bring ulcers on quickly.

First I would have her scoped............it is still cheaper to scope than just use a product hoping that is the problem.........
And you mentioned you sent her to be halter broke.........she may have injured herself internally........I would have her checked for that as well.........
I would also check her for sand.......not sure of the area you live in but sand can affect ones overall health.....etc.......

I'm curious about what dewormer you used as well.
Also wouldn't be shocked if she had ulcers from being weaned and sent off at the same time.

I would suggest scope for ulcers and have a fecal done.

I would not recommend wasting your money scoping for ulcers.......just treat her or leave her alone in a less stressful environment. Weaning is stressful enough, but sending them off will often but them over the top.

The vets around here don't even scope, they just go ahead and recommend treating for ulcers if the symptoms fit.

Thanks I got her some ulcer stuff ordered up.. She has been wormed twice as stated in origonal post. (Ivermectrin the first time and i"d have to go look the second) I also thought she just looked wormy thats why I wormed her right away, and then again. Did nothing to help.
I don't have any current pics but I'll take some before we put her on the ulcer meds and then again in 30 days so I can see the difference.  Hopefully that does the trick

I agree its way cheaper for me to treat her for them then to have her scoped. By the time I take off work, haul over 200 miles and vet bills I'll have well over $1000 just to see.
