Can You Hear Me Now?

And if you do can you message me. I need ideas on how to help them morn and not turn overly protective (of me to others). I have tried the usual ( food, toys, etc) pastimes and lots of attention but they are missing my dad and freak when I am not in eyesight. We have had them 20 years and never had this problem (dad and I have always been sole caregivers and we have had them their entire lives and raised several of them). There are 7 of them and I have put them all close together to hopefully give them comfort in each other as well as me but it's not helping either.

Macaws, like other parrots, tend to attach themself to one person. Ours had been in different homes, etc & was in his 20's when we adopted him, even though I'd known him & worked at the facility where he lived since he was 11. He had his favorite people, I was one, and preferred women over men. Fast forward to him joining our family and he took an instant attachment to my husband. That was HIS person. He still likes me, but if my husband is in eye sight he will try to bite me. If hubby isn't around, I can do whatever I want with him & he's cool.

My only advice is try to spend time talking to them & being near/hanging around. It will take them time. They are so smart. Tell them what's going on. Good luck.
