Gettin Jiggy Wit It

I had polylast installed in my trailer in 2017. The trailer dealer that installed it actually installed my floor with a polylast installer because they were learning how to do floors.  By fall of 2019 I was noticing wear in places. My horses don't paw so I was going to get it taken care of with the 10 year warranty I was told I had. Spring of 2020 I was going to get the floor fixed since I wasn't hauling because of covid cancelling races.  The trailer dealer that installed polylast said they were having a hard time getting ahold of polylast. I just decided to wait.  By spring of 2021 polylast was actually peeling up in my trailer.  I finally was able to get it in and it taken care of.  The trailer dealer told me they had to put a whole new floor in because it was pulling up.  They put the new floor in April of 2021. By June it was peeling.  So I had another a 3rd new floor put in.  By August it was peeling up again so I decided to contact polylast.  It has been over a month and I've talked to 3 different people from Polylast. Finally I demanded I talk to someone higher up.  Each time I had to call because no one would call me back. Finally the owner answered and is basically telling me I'm lying that I never had polylast put in my trailer to begin with. He bought the company in 2019. Told me that the dealer was using a fake product.  I kept telling him to call the trailer company.  He didn't. So I called the trailer company and told them to call the owner. They did and the owner denied that an installer never came out to the trailer company in 2017 to teach them to install. That the trailer company never used polylast.  I called the owner again today because I called the trailer company first and they said he never got back to the them. I also haven't heard from him in a week. Again today he blames me for probably never having polylast in my trailer and said that he doesn't think there is anything he will be able to do.  Now that's not the Biggest problem. He was flat out rude to me and made me feel like a liar and that it wasn't his problem.  He also was getting very defensive on the phone which naturally made me defensive.  It is absolutely unbelievable.  Probably some of the worst customer service. He basically told me that since it didn't work in my trailer and he didn't own the company then it's not his problem to stand behind the product! The trailer company did finally tell me the 3rd product they put in that is peeling up in my trailer now since August is another brand of product. So since the polylast owner was told that information he won't stand behind polylast.  He said the other stuff didn't hold up either that there is something wrong with my trailer. So here I sit with hundreds of little holes drilled into the floor of my trailer and trailer floor products that won't stick...  Initially polylast was put in by their professional and it didn't hold up and adhere properly, yet It's all my fault and no one wants to belly up to the bar and stand behind their work... Just be careful when getting these floors put in because the warranty means nothing from the trailer company or polylast!!!

Sadly, you are not the first one I've heard have problems with Polylast (and some of the other porous products).  So many love it at first, then with time have issues.  I sure wouldn't want them drilling holes in my floors.  I have had werm in my trailers for several years now and love that stuff, but it's a whole differnt product (not porous so nothing goes through).  I hope you can get some satisfaction/restitution.

I had the Polyast Floor put in one of my trailers.  It was a new trailer and within months there were soft spots and hole forming from where a horse had pawed.  Not a dig to China paw either.  I sold the trailer and would never put Polyast flooring in again.  I'd rather pull my mats a couple times a year and power wash.  It's not that hard.

Slipperyslope,

What were some of the problems you have heard of with the "other" brands? I am saving money to get a flooring installed in my trailer so I was just curious. DM if you would like. Thanks

I've had WERM flooring in my last two horse trailers. I love it and am glad I tried it when someone recommended it to me. I've never had any issues with it and will not own a trailer without WERM flooring in it.

Same here, I rather pull the mats out then having holes drilled in my trailer floors, I would worry that the holes would weaken my floors.

I have a friend whose son was selling Polylast. I told him to tell his son to call me twice. He never did call me. I guess that was divine intervention!
