Does anyone know anything about a stud named Awesome Chrome? Or experience with any offspring?

I just sold a mare by him.  He is a full brother to Okey Dokey Dale.

Thanks.  Good to know.  Do you know if his colts are easy to work with?

The two I had experience with were very pretty....lots of flash and shape, and were very personable horses, but I felt they were much better at running than turning. They were physically capable of really turning nice, but just really didn't want to do it....they were definitely pull style horses and never were consistent, even when older. I had the exact same experience with the one ODD I owned as well.

Thanks, Diane. Run is important, but not without some turn.

My mare turned okay but you couldnt lift her, if you lifted she would move over like no tomorrow. I normally just hollared whoa and sat.  I liked her but I got hurt and sold all my horses.

They cross well with Shawne Bug mares. Good 1D horse named Shawne Chrome can really run a nice pattern. I have an ODD grandaughter who is going to be nice barring anything happening. Crossed right I think they can make nice ones.

Do you think he would be a good choice if you wanted more run and had more turn than you need in your mare?

I had a 5 yr old gelding by him that I sold a couple months back. He was a looker. Solid black with a big white blaze and BIG. Over 16 hh. My experience was the same as Diane's. He had an amazing handle on him, but wanted to run more then he did turn. Granted I'm on the smaller side and felt like someone with more upper body strength could have run him better. Mine was clocking in the 3D with very limited hauling and just cruising. I wouldnt mind trying another one by him, but I think a cross on a mare with some turn would really help. Mine was out of a roll the cash/special effort bred mare.

Most of the ones I have encountered were not very smart. Kinda ignorant. Not saying all are, but the ones I have seen were.

My EXACT experience.  He could do it, wouldn't commit to it though and never got any consistency.  A gorgeous horse and fun to ride trails and work cows on, very personable just not mentally of the opinion that he wanted to turn barrels  .

i have an own daughter of awesome chrome out of a seattle slew mare. and mine is a worky thing and not so much run! lol she'll get up and go but would rather just put around. mine is like everyone said, beautiful RED big girl. built like a tank. i find she is very mature, i check fences with her, pony other horses etc. she is only 3 though. She doesn't do as well as id like at barrel races, she works fine but doesn't pay attention, she isn't spooky but likes to look. i love mine though.
