I am driving from Texas to Ohio the weekend after Thanksgiving and have spent absolutely no time in any of that region. So can anyone give me an idea of the weather and road conditions? I know there is snow in Ohio where I am going but as far as Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky I have absolutely no clue. I have tried looking up some road trip weather things but no luck on it so far. Basically wanting to know if there is much snow/ice throughout that region? Thanks! =

I live just south of Louisville KY. Any snow that we have here now should be melted off by this weekend. Roads are fine. We are expecting it to get around 50 degrees this weekend and rain.  Hopefully nothing will come next week.

I would wait until Thanksgiving day to check out weather in KY.... it can literally change in a matter of hours/days. The 10 day forecast is not very reliable.

Are you going to be traveling with horses?

Check in regular with www.safetravelusa.com click on the state you are in and the road conditions are available for the highways in the state. I use it all of the time.

Also, handy to help avoid road construction, in the summer of course!!

Conditions change not just by the day but by the hour. I will caution you that Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee don't have the massive amount of equipment to deal with ice and snow, so in many instances will just take the wait a day or two and it will melt and take care of itself...approach. Farther North we have to take care of it or would just have to shut down for the entire winter. lol

Yep check state DOT websites before you travel for road conditions and pack winter gear. Have fun on your visit!
