I'm hearing all this hype about different vitamin/supplements etc.....I am not necessarily looking for weight loss although that would be a plus.......even tho diet and exercise is best. I am very tired and lack energy and ambition always. I'm looking for something to make me feel good and have energy and sleep better at night? Can anyone tell me if they have ever had these products viewed by a dr or which they like and why?
Thrive
Plexus
Genisus pure
Etc.....
Thank you

I dont know anything about the specific brands you listed, but all the research I have been seeing points to the biggest thing is a good probiotic, and up your fruits and vegetables and cut the sugar. Dr Oz says to drink 2 cups green tea a day which I have been doing and I sweeten it with honey. Not sugar. I also just last week started on a good probiotic.

I wouldn't recommend any of those that you mentioned but I think the best way to feeling good and being less tired is to eat REAL food....meat, eggs, fruits, and vegetables and cut out as much sugar and processed foods(unnecessary artifical carbs) as possible. Also, a Vitamin D supplement has helped me more than anything I've ever tried. I take Nature Made gel caps(from Walmart) 5,000 IU per day and felt much better(more energy, not tired and hungry all the time) within about 3 days of starting it. I take a 400 mg Magnesium supplement before bedtime too which is great for helping me relax and sleep good. I get mine on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Vitality-Calm-Raspberry-Lemon/dp/B00B... And quite possibly the most important thing you can do to have more energy is to make sure you drink at the very least a half gallon of water per day. I have huge dips in my energy levels the next day after I skip drinking the proper amount of water. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Stay away from Thrive! Was given samples of this "miracle" supplement. I felt absolutely terrible! Stomach problems, racing heart, anxiety, dizzy, the list goes on. One of my friends who tried it a few weeks later landed in ER because she thought she was having a heart attack.

Don't try these new fad diets. Move more, eat less. :) I know easier said than done, but it really will make a difference.

My mom tried thrive and had heart palpations and tachycardia for 8 hours after and that was with 1/2 dose.

i like Fruitein green shakes. one thing i like is that it is not hyped up with 5,000% of everything making it hard on your liver and kidneys. Price is good too.

Same thing happened to my mom when she tried the sample, blood sugar also dropped instantly, and she spent a large part of the day in the bathroom. And I'm pretty sure it didn't "detoxify" her, just cleaned her out, as would any mass amount of caffeine would (no wonder it leads to weight loss). Had a friend that is a dietician look into the product and she recommended not using it..

Pyramid scheme IMO.

Each to his own though I guess.

Diet, exercise and a good multi-vitamin, a lot better than an expensive, short-term fix.

Started back on this a month ago and it seems to help.....Protein powder (all natural, non-soy, vegetarian), hemp protein powder in a kale, Apple, carrot, almond milk smoothie. Colloidal minerals, iron, sublingual vit. B-12,  vitamin d.
I get everything at Swansons vitamins and the protein powder is the most expensive.

I am a big fan of "B-complex" vitamins. I used to just take b12 by itself, but the b-complex seems to help more with energy.
Also melatonin to sleep better.
