I have a successful open rodeo mare whom I am thinking about breeding in the spring and would like to hear about some successful crosses with her pedigree. She is line bred Doc O Lena and her main weakness is she is fine boned and gets bogged  down in deep pens. She is only about 14.3, does good on little bitty or standard pattern and handles mud and trashy, hard ground no problem. She has a huge stride for her size, she's long, and is pretty much automatic. Not ratey but not push style either. Just whatever you ask, she will do. I'm looking for something to help with her weaknesses without taking away her strengths.....and I could care less about getting color. TIA!

I think Jet Of Honor would be one of the more proven crossed on DOL. Thinking Blazin Jetolena.

I agree. We have a daughter of Jet Of Honor who is out of a Doc O Lena/ Flit Bar bred mare. She's an excellent mare. BJO is on my list of stallions to breed to for sure.

I found the best cross on my granddaughters of Doc Bar was A Streak Of Fling.  That's living sires.

I'd pick one of the Tres Seis studs out there.  This colt is out of our Doc O Lena mare and Slim

I have a 3yr old by our son of Special Leader he is out of a Streaking Six daughter the filly is out of a granddaughter of Doc O Lena who has produced a rodeo and 1D horse but was by a son of Reminic. This was the first cross to run and she got hurt this summer so we are behind. I am hoping she will be a good one. I do however think she is made right .

I crossed my Doc O Lena on a Jet of Honor (Honorable Fortune-who had to be put down the day after they shipped semen).  He turned two this year but we didn't start him until this fall because he tried to cut a front foot off this spring.  Our colt starter said he was one of the smartest, gentlest colts he's ever started.  Which makes me sick because we aren't sure that he's going to be sound.  He put 8 rides on him and we turned him out until spring.
