Do you any of you know of a decent feed that does NOT have molasses in it other than STRATEGY? Floyd seems to having issues with the sugars.

The molasses probably isn't the issues. The starches from oats, corn, barley and other ingredients have a bigger effect than molasses most of the time. Most feeds have minimal amounts of molasses in them, just enough for flavor and to minimize dust. I worry more about corn, oats, barley and other starchy ingredients over the molasses when it comes to starch/sugar content.

I'm the one that asked about Dumor. I currently feed "mine" renew good and love it but I just went from feeding 2 to feeding 4. I need to back off $$ wise. I can't afford or convince myself to feed the 2 new ones renew. I love it but I feed more than the recommended amount already. I can't afford to put 2 broodmares on it. That's why I'm going to try Dumor on all of mine and see how it goes. If it's not what I want the. I'll just buy 2 feeds. Renew for performance and Dumor for mommas. I would just like to stick to one 0.o

Dumor is made by Purina for Tractor Supply. It should be okay, but I'd rather just feed alfalfa pellets and rice bran. Broodies should do great on I just that.

If you're feeding over recommended rate of Renew, what's your hay looking like? A good grass/alfalfa combo should need pretty minimal Renew additions.

Total Equine and Renew Gold.  I found something interesting. I had my horses on a sweet feed and tried to switch to Renew Gold - ALL rejected it. I than started to feed the Total Equine but I was concerned about the high corn content but they ate it. WELL I tried again to switch to Renew Gold and ALL HORSES ate it! I am going out on a limb here (probably going to fall) but I'm thinking going from straight molasses feed to one without, some horses may reject it.  Like from eating Capt Crunch to Rice Chex. It made a huge difference getting that molasses out of their feed. I'm glad I tried again.

I had used total equine several years ago and I didn't really see much difference... And then my supplier moved and it costs too much to get it where I'm located. So tractor supply or atwoods S&S feeds are my choices to buy feed

My horse is allergic to molasses and I must have scanned every feed out there. It was super hard to find without molasses especially ones that are designed for performance horses. I'm noticing a huge difference with the Renew Gold especially on my really old horse that lost a lot of weight. Good luck!
