Herbie - 2014-12-02 10:19 AM I called last night....they said the only channel in jeopardy this Thursday is the local CBS channel.  That CBSSN is safe for now.  That being said, the SEC Championship game will on on the local CBS channel so we're considering switching anyway!

Fact of the matter is this can and does happen with any provider when contracts come up for renewal.  I am on Dish now because Direct once lost Versus in a contract dispute.  At the time Versus was airing the PBR which was essential to my husbands entertainment agenda.  Wait around long enough and channels are lost and often regained.  However it always happens when something you really really want is eminent.

Does anyone know if AT&T Uverse even offers this channel? I haven't had a chance to look...

I will not be a happy camper if not or if you have to have the 400 channel package...

Edit - found it... 643 ( had to go add it dang it)

I had Dish for over 20 years.  They never charged us for the local channels.  I called Direct TV and they wanted to charge me for the local channels, plus I had to pay for the equipment to get those channels in the amount of $750.00.  Right now we do not have anything, but may get Dish after the first of the year.

I'm glad we are not with Dish. When DirecTV was considering dropping RFD (haven't heard anything for a while) we considered switching but not now! CBS is one of the networks I live on, among others lol.

Our cable provider this year dropped a bunch of channels that we watch but of course are left with 200 channels that we never ever watch. If it weren't for a handful of other channels or the fact that we can't even get local channels without our cable hooked up we would totally tell them to screw off.

Oh and my cable provider does not even offer a package with CBS Sports as an option. We get GAC though so I am not happy about this switch AT ALL!

We lost out local CBS station with Dish this past summer for about 2 months but it came back after they negotiated. It may be in your viewing area only.
