i like mine and its the only thing i can use on my one horse....get the bob marshall original....i tried a circle y treeless and it really made me want to tip forward and put my feet waay behind me (it was horrible and i hated it glad i tried one before buying) stay away from the hillason they are well simply put made poopy

make sure you try before you buy..ppl are gonna give you a lot of opinions but unless you try it you wont know what you like...:)

I have the genuine bmss, I would not buy a circle y, I used to own one and its not the same feel or ride....

I personally like the "older" models myself, I have a 1998, and 2003..

I had ordered 3 new ones and disliked everyone, craftsmanship was poor, and the ride was not good.....

I even have a tiny 10" genuine bmss for 2 girls and its a 2003...

back in the early 2000's they changed the marker plate and went to a serial number system, so all the saddles made from then on will have a serial number stamped up under the chap flap, my 1998 does not, on reason I know exactly what it is is bc we ordered it from bm.....

but yes I agree, u need to get one and ride in it, and like I said they don't all ride the same.... it is a close contact feel, when ur horse sweats ur butt and everything in ur pockets will be sweaty lol, but u can feel ur horse moving up under you, also the are no bars to impede the movement of the shoulders.....

a good supportive pad is a must, my vet said no gel or air pads, only wool or fleece, I tried a saddlerigjt and it was way too stiff and my mare pitched a fit....

I rotate my pads around depending on the level of riding I am doing that day and weather..... if I just fiddle fartin around in pasture I will ride a thinner pad vs competition runs and such....

also, since there is no "backbone" to the saddle bm suggest getting the sports cincha, it a preformed cinch and it serves as ur "tree" so to speak also u should be able to cinch up 2 holes less w the sports cincha, I have 2 of them, both different size for different horses.....

good luck.....sorry its so long....go genuine bmss
