Location: MT | This was mine. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/lambo+diablo He was on the track until he was 6, was bred by Legacy Ranch who had Merridoc. Absolutely loved him and am sure I will never get another like him, one of those once in a lifetime horses for me. Full of personality and heart. He was super aggressive to ride, always wanted to go faster and better, would try to cut off other horses in the warmup pen when he thought they were trying to pass him. Was also aggressive in the herd with other horses. I'm certain that's why he was gelded in his race days. Was a doll to me, just a big sweetheart with a huge work ethic. The most athletic horse I've ever ridden.

Location: So. Cali. | LOVE Merridoc horses.
Ive had this guy since he was 4yrs old and green. Like the above poster mentioned on hers, this is my once in a lifetime horse. Always happy to jump in the trailer and go somewhere. Loves to run barrels, literally I just sit there, dont kick or whip, and he goes out and runs his little heart out for me. Can be a handful, actually dumped me the second day I had him, still likes to make sure I'm paying attention every once in a while too! He was rather late to mature, but still has loads of personality.

This guy is our first home born and raised. We actually purchased his sire for the Merridoc in his lines. He's 4.5yrs old now, Super athletic, smart, and easy to train, but makes me work for every little piece of it. I think he's going to be easy to run on the barrels, like the above gelding.

And I just sold this mare recently. I got her the end of last year as a project, she had been raced as a 3yr old and then turned out to pasture for almost 4 years. LOVED this mare. Very easy to train, super willing horse, just wanted to please. I can recall only ever having 1 bad ride on her, always looked forward to riding her. She went to a great local home so I get to see her continue to progress on the barrels and can't wait for her to kick my butt!

ETA: The sire of my colt, never would've guessed he was a stallion. Big love, stood outside the mares stalls to be trimmed without so much as a nicker. Little 120lb me handled him when we live covered the mares. Credit must be given to who ever started him and handled him as a young stud of course! But the personalities on Merridoc horses are to die for!

Location: Buffalo, Wyoming | We owned an own son of Merridoc that we stood. He was BEAUTIFUL!!! He was great at home but could turn into a dink once he got to the track.
I ran a daughter of his for about 4-5 years. She had a ton of try and I wish I never would have sold her. She was a free runner and I like more of the ratey type horses or she would still be with me.
I have a granddaugher of the stud above that is mixed with some cow and she is the perfect combo. You better show her right the first time because she knows what she is doing after that. She is 13-14 now and cow a barrel plus run. |
