Looking for a Care Lease agreement & what additional things to put in one besides, vet care / health of animal, shoeing, who is responsible for board payment. Anything else besides the basics that should be added that I prob wouldnt think of??......
Im leasing out a late teens horse that will be used for 4H.

Insurance payable to you for the amout you feel the horse is worth. Don't forget a release of liability clause either no matter how much you dont think your horse would do anything wrong a horse is an animal and should always be treated as such. Also I would avoid any written or spoken performance clauses .....even a side comment could turn ugly in a hurry if they take it as a verbale agreement or promise of performance.....and then don't want to pay the lease.....

I suggest get a thorough vet check so every party involved knows the condition of the horse prior to going into the lease.
This will help if the horse goes lame once the lease is in effect to see if it is a preexisting condition or a new one. This way the leasee can decide if they want to do maintenance as the horse is aged.
