I have a couple barn kittens.  2 have crusty eyes. I have been cleaning them out but they keep matting shut.  Any suggestions on how to treat this?

I suggest this: http://www.revivalanimal.com/Vetericyn-Ophthalmic-Gel.html

I've had excellent luck with it on my barn kitties, all 8 of them had the eye issues as well

We would wash them out with salt water when this happened....and would check them morning and night to keep any build up away

I just got one past this. She was sneezy, snotty nose and crusty eyes. I cleaned her up twice a day and she worked out of it.

yes they are sneezing.

They could also have a respiratory infection as well if they are sneezing, it can cause crusty/watery eyes.

Antibotics then for the infection?

yes. Normally a medication is prescribed, along with isolation (but since both could have it I wouldnt worry about it), lots of water and rest for the kitties. If left untreated, they can sometimes get pneumonia.

they give them amoxicillin, same stuff you give your kids. 10 days and they are over it. Take their temp and if they are running a fever I would call the vet and ask if you can pick up some antibiotics. Not sure if you have that good of a relationship with your vet or not.
