Keep those crap slapping tails away!

Location: Around here somewhere... | Β Ok, ok, i know that the best solution is time... But what do you do to help speed up the process? My colt ate my mare's gorgeous tail (used to be long and thick, it's now just a few inches below the dock!) I'll be conditioning it and braiding once it's long enough, and she is getting proper nutrition, but I'm wishing for a magic potion to make it grow back down to the ground by the time spring is here... |

Location: Oklahoma & Texas | Get em on a flax/omega supp or feed...like 1/2 a cup of omegahorseshine twice a day or renew gold as a feed....also supplement msm...its cheap cheap and is great for manes n tails and hooves...go for a pure form one where its like a crystal powder and high % you'll want to feed atleast 10,000 mg which i get the Animed brand..1 scoop is 28,000 mg and i give 1/2 a scoop per feeding, the scoop is included and its small...it has other helpful things it does but i can attest it has worked wonders on all of mine...you'll have their tails growing fast as well as manes.. |

Location: North Dakota | Β I've heard good things about applying MTG in addition to a good feed program. That's what I've started with my gelding. I was trimming his mane for hunter braids but I wanna see if I can make him look like a fairy princess horse. |

There's a new non-smelly one that's supposed to work as well as the original. Of course my local TSC did not have that so my horse smells like the world's largest strip of burnt bacon. |

Platinum is formulated by vets and sold only by vets. Best supplement I have used and I have used them all. My paint horse's tail dragged the ground till his pasture mate got board one day and chewed it off way above his hocks. That was just a few months before the APHA world show. It has really grown out. I would say about an inch a month. It looks good now--almost as long as it was. He feet grow like crazy too. |

Location: Canada | I had a horse I was selling, and he had a beautiful tail until one of my other horses chewed it off. So I used MTG ( it smells really bad but it works) on it and really give it a good brush through and braid tight. I would do the MTG once a week ( because if over used it got really greasy). Something else that works well is Skin so Soft combined with water and vinegar, works super well plus it's not greasy at all. |

Location: MD | I've been using MTG, granted I didn't have that situation. I have noticed in a couple months I have about 1/2" extra in length, and I have noticed considerable change in the thickness in his mane. I've been braiding it and leaving it in. |

Like everyone else I trim my horses bridle paths. I was looking at all of them today and they have grown out an inch. I just clipped them! My paint horse that had a remodel last year has just about grown his back to his pasterns. It was chewed off above his hocks and looked like crap. It looked so bad I did not take a picture so nothing to compare to. This horse is 16-1 so it is a LONG way down to his pasterns.

| How often do you apply mtg and do you rebraid every couple of days? |
