KatieMac88 - 2015-01-07 4:48 PM Schneiders sells a repair tape on their website sstack.com. I've not used it, but should probably order some.

I tried it and wasn't happy with it. It ending peeling up pretty quickly.

I find my blanket will all stay in place with just leg straps so if they rip off a belly strap those get tossed. break a leg strap attachment and you can run the other between their legs to the other side and blanket will still stay in place.  break a leg stap and you can buy new ones or I have some old ones hanging around from blanket that have bit the dust. rip the blanket and I either fix it myself or we have a women in our club that has a heavy duty sewing maching that can fix anything like that. Usually its about $10-$20 though so it has to be a good blanket still for me to spend the money. if it is more then 4 seasons old and has had a few fixes I will normally just toss it and get new. I won't even bother with duct tape as my kids are all out with another horse and that would just be something fun to pick at all day long. Gorilla tape maybe. Have not tried that.

Gorilla Tape works well on some that just have small tears in them. ;

I repair my blankets myself.

BUT - after cleaning your blankets well, snag a bottle of waterproofing spray from your local camping store/sporting goods store.  Spray liberally the entire blanket area (not the straps).  It helps with waterproofing, windproofing, and I have found it also toughen's up the blanket to rips and tears.

We take ours to a local upholstery shop to get fixed - when we do throw one away we cut off all the snaps, buckles and d-rings for use on future repairs

send them to get patched when summer comes, Im kind of a blanket hoarder and have about 18 blankets and currently only have 3 horses... so i can just switch em out.. its worth getting them fixed in my opinion I had a gal repaired 4 of them this fall one was pretty bad but she did a great job and the repair and wash was only $25 so i would rather spend that then $150 on a new one... But im lucky mine are pretty good to their blankets and its generally just small tears if anything from being used...
