| Down to my final two ( If I can get chasin firewater in auction) would you go with chasin firewater or slick by design? My mare is daughter of merridoc.. She is built, and is long and tall. Would like to bring down in size a bit. Looking for one that will have good resale just in case I don't keep. |

| Slick has by far out-performed chasin by about $250K. Will be interesting to see what Slick produces. But if I were a bettin man, I think I'd put my money on slick. That being said I think Chasin does produce a very flashy foal and has produced some nice performers so far even though this last year he didn't do nearly as well as he had the previous 3 years. |

| I have personally bred to Chasin twice and would do it again in a heartbeat. Both times, I bred a BIG TB mare to him and have basically gotten carbon copies of Chasin (cute head, palomino, lots of chrome) but just a smidge taller. The colts have been very trainable, want to please, and tons of athletic ability. I haven't a bad word to say about Chasin or his colts. I haven't got the chance to be around Slick's colts, but I assume that they'll be nice as well. |

I love my colt by Chasin from last year and had booked his dam to Slick in 2014 but unfortunately didn't get her bred last year - it got late in the season. I ended up trading the breeding to a friend but had thought about booking another breeding to him.
I prefer the bloodlines on Chasin more (I am not a huge fan of OTMR) but I feel like the Slick babies are going to sell very well.
So if you weren't already torn, I'm sure my post will only make it worse, LOL. |

| Chasin has a limited book, and Slick does not. Sometimes more out there on the market will hurt their selling price.

The quantity of foals has nothing to do with it. It is the demand that matters, and if they start winning there will be plenty of demand. |

And the flip side of that is if they dont, they will be on every street corner for cheap. |

| Cons on both both are on small side, size did not hurt either of them as both did well. But for sale ability people like a decent size horse. I with one of themabove poster not a fam of othr. But, i do like firewater flits they are workers and the sons seem like they throw that. If my mare had a little more speed i would have bred her to,chasin myself. In fact after fwf died i almost bred my mare but knew it would not be tye best cross for her. |
