Location: USA		When feeding herbs, does it matter if they're ground up into a powder or whole? Are they absorbed better one way or the other?

Location: 31 lengths farms		I have only used the powdered kind, either Silver Lining Herbs or Equine Natural Care. The biggest issue with it at first is introducing a new smell so I started with a small dose and I also put ACV over it to help it cling to the feed. The only whole herbs I've seen are the wholesale type and I'd be concerned about not knowing the purity of it and how much to give my horse.

Location: East Tennessee but who knows?!		Horsepower Herbs has a supplement that's whole herbs (Gut Proof) and some are powdered. Not sure why there's a difference. May have to do with absorption.

These aren't wholesale, they're specially made for horses. I've just never seen them whole before.

Location: 31 lengths farms		What brand is it? The whole ones you are talking about... I would just think that on so many of them they use a combination of herbs to deal with an issue and leaving them whole would make it harder to guarantee that the right blend was in the dosing spoon, if that makes sense. Interesting though.
