Do you (the tenant) pay for property taxes?

Do you pay for the insurance for the exterior building?

Of course, a landlord can put anything they want into a lease.

Only in a Triple Net Lease, which would include these specifics, otherwise no.

I don't own my own business, but the office that we are in is rented. We do not pay the taxes; I'm sure a portion of the taxes of what the owner pays is paid by our monthly rent.

As for insurance on the building it really depends on the lease. The Lessee may require with Lessor to pay for the insurance walls in, which would be your contents coverage, however I've also seen some contracts where the Lessee requires the lessor to pay for the building insurance, but they've specified the limit, special form, replacement cost yada yada yada.

My husband does not.

Read your lease. It will specify this information.
