Coming back after a popped splint..
Extreme Veteran
Posts: 399
So my gelding has been slightly off and started refusing the gate
( which he NEVER has done
) So the warning bells went off after he did it the second time in one weekend So scratched him for the rest of the weekend and called the vet. So after talking to my vet we gave him 10 days bute and rest and a chiro adjustment and then we did some X-rays. So now we found out that he had popped a splint on his back leg it is quiet now So now she said to take about 10 steps back and recondition the tendons and ligaments in that leg So she recommended only straight lines for about a month and to make sure I wrap his legs for extra support rather than boots. Any other suggestions?

I would wait a month as all my splint issues, vet has always made me wait 6 weeks.
The splints that were fractured bone marrow was injected in

You might rent a ultr oz. I have one that had a splint. It has reduced the size to where it is barely noticeable. I love mine. I can give you the number of the rep I use. She is great to deal with and very knowledgeable.
