Anyone who won't run on it?  Why?
Is the Josey's considered to be really sandy?  I can't remember, but it looks like it from the pictures.

Dry sand can be treacherous, especially over a hard pan.  Yes, Josey's is sandy.  They do a great job with their ground, from what I've seen--water is your friend.

Thanks.  My gelding has recovered from an inflammed suspensory, but I'll be doing my best not to subject him to awful conditions.... and sand is one of those things that scare me!

If I'm runnng a horse that I feel is vulnerable to soft tissue injury, I avoid sandy pens unless they are VERY well watered (more like rained on heavily) and packed.

Josey's used to be sandy. they have hauled in dirt or something and it is no longer that sandy. Strange stuff. The water it then pack it then water it some more. If you cut it, it is sqishy mud. When packed, it is not particularly muddy and does not get deep. It used to get DEEP.

Thank you for the info.  Might sound a little better!  I have a friend who is really wanting me to go to the Reunion with her.... just very cautious!
